Tea Party Express Endorses Yvette Herrell for Congress in New Mexico

For Immediate Release: August 11, 2020

SACRAMENTO, CA: Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of State Rep. Yvette Herrell for Congress in New Mexico’s Second Congressional District.

Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “We are excited to join Tea Party Senator Ted Cruz in endorsing proven conservative leader Yvette Herrell. Her years of experience both in the private sector and fighting for smaller government at the State Capitol in Santa Fe will make her an effective member of Congress.

Yvette Herrell knows that it the role of government is not to create jobs, but rather to create an attractive environment that encourages job creators to continue investing. In her eight years in the New Mexico House of Representatives, she led the charge to reform a bloated state government and roll back job-killing regulations that serve only to enrich unelected bureaucrats. As a result of her efforts, she was named the most conservative member of the House as well as ‘Hero of the Year’ by the New Mexico Business Coalition. Yvette is committed to reining in the size, cost and intrusiveness of the federal government, and she is a co- founder of the Balanced Budget Amendment Task Force.

“In this time of economic uncertainty, we need conservative leaders like Yvette in Congress fighting to get government out of the way of entrepreneurs and job creators so struggling Americans can get back to work. The radical left is trying to use the situation to push for even more bloated government and expensive social programs that will saddle the country with more debt and do nothing to stimulate the economy. We cannot afford to let them attempt their failed strategy once again. We must remove the gavel out of the hands of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. We can do that by taking control of Congress by defeating vulnerable Democrats like Xochitl Torres Small and replacing them with commonsense conservatives like Yvette Herrell,” Russo concluded.

The following are statements from local grassroots leaders:

“I have known Yvette Herrell for several years and fully endorse her as she has always followed through on her stated beliefs and promises. She is an extraordinarily strong supporter of law enforcement and pro-life, Second Amendment issues and our United States Constitution. It is my opinion that she supports Christian beliefs, a conservative government, and the constitutional rights of all U.S. citizens regardless of their political affiliation.” – Dan Parrott, Las Cruces

“Yvette is a practical and common-sense conservative whose core interests are the needs of the citizens of the Second Congressional District. Yvette comes from a solid heritage of working New Mexicans and knows the needs and values of rural New Mexico.” – Warren Johnson, Las Cruces

“I am delighted to endorse Yvette Herrell for Congress. In New Mexico, we desperately need her common sense support of traditional American values and dedication to conservative principles. Her message has been consistent, believable and grounded in support of America and the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.” – Bill Frazier, Las Cruces
