ELECTION ALERT: Tea Party Express Endorses Three Conservatives in Texas

For Immediate Release: October 14, 2020

SACRAMENTO, CA: Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of the following conservative Congressional candidates in Texas: Tony Gonzales in the 23rd District, Beth Van Duyne in the 24th District, and Genevieve Collins in the 32nd District.

Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “The Lone Star State is one of the best opportunities for conservatives to bring the ‘blue wave’ the Democrats are banking on in November to a crashing halt. We are excited to endorse committed conservative leaders Tony Gonzales, Beth Van Duyne, and Genevieve Collins, who will stand up to the far left and fight for Texas values in Congress.

23rd District: “Tony Gonzales has dedicated his entire life to serving his country. Enlisting in the Navy at age 18, he served for more than 20 years, including tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, and gained extensive experience as a cyber security specialist. While working on the staff for U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, he helped craft policies that strengthened our military and held the Veterans Administration accountable for its mismanagement. Tony grew up in the sprawling 23rd District, and he understands the struggles working families and entrepreneurs there face each day. They need greater economic opportunity, and Tony is committed to fighting for them by cutting oppressive taxes and unnecessary regulations that hamper economic growth. As a military veteran and cyber security expert, he appreciates the threats and dangers America faces and is committed to keeping America safe and secure. His opponent, perennial candidate Gina Ortiz, just added “Ortiz” to her last name to confuse voters that she is Hispanic. It isn’t a good start when candidates are not honest before they are even elected.

24th District: “A former city council member and the first female mayor of Irving, Beth Van Duyne has an impressive record of fighting for accountability and integrity in government. She worked tirelessly in her first term as mayor to pass the city’s first ethics laws, which implemented term limits and cracked down on corruption. Under Beth’s leadership, the city passed a balanced budget every single year and was one of the leading cities in the country for job growth. Her impressive record led President Trump to name her a regional administrator at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. We need her principled leadership in Congress to help get the economy moving again and clean up the waste and corruption in the federal government. Her opponent is Candace Valenzuela, who has focused her campaign on supporting protesters in the Dallas area, even though they have escalated into violence. Law enforcement leaders have stood up and rightly endorsed Beth Van Duyne.

32nd District: “Genevieve Collins will be a consistent and pragmatic voice for North Texas’ working families and entrepreneurs. An executive at an educational technology company that has helped thousands of kids learn to read and created hundreds of good-paying jobs, Genevieve knows that free market innovation solves problems far better than big government. That is why she opposes disastrous schemes like the Green New Deal, which will destroy Texas’ energy industry and eliminate thousands of jobs. A vote for Genevieve is a vote for freedom, opportunity, and honest leadership. Her opponent and incumbent, Colin Allred, claims to be a moderate when he is in Texas, but consistently votes with Nancy Pelosi and AOC in Washington and exposes himself as a committed liberal who is out of touch with Texans. He refuses to condemn the Democrats’ increasingly radical socialist agenda, and he often just stands by instead of fighting for Texas. Genevieve will be a much better fit for this district.

“With the election now less than three weeks away, the Democrats are dumping millions upon millions of dollars into Texas to try and turn it into a blue state this year. Out-of-state billionaires like George Soros are hoping they can fool voters into electing Democrats who are running as moderates because they know these Democrats will be reliable votes for the radical left’s most extreme agenda. But the Lone Star State was built upon the principles of limited government and individual freedom, and Texans know when they are being deceived. They deserve honest, independent leadership that works to unleash an economy that will create jobs and opportunity. They will hold the federal government accountable, and that is the leadership they’ll get from Tony Gonzales, Beth Van Duyne, and Genevieve Collins,” Russo concluded.
