ELECTION ALERT: Tea Party Express Endorses Tom Barrett in Michigan’s Seventh Congressional District

Sacramento, CA: Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest grassroots Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of Tom Barrett in Michigan’s Seventh Congressional District.
Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “Tom Barrett is a true American patriot who has served our nation for more than 21 years in the United States Army, and we are honored to endorse his candidacy.
“Tom dedicated his life to fighting to protect the freedoms we cherish as Americans, and bravely served our country on multiple deployments to places like Iraq, Kuwait, Guantanamo Bay, and South Korea. After returning from Iraq, he learned to fly some of the most advanced helicopters in the world and continued his service to our nation.
“Currently, Congress only has 91 Members who have ever served in the military, and we need veterans like Tom to join the ranks of Congress to fight on behalf of the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms. We need his expertise as America is facing more threats across the globe.
“Upon returning to Michigan, Tom saw firsthand the dire state of Michigan’s economy and the devastating high employment rate among veterans. Wanting to serve his country in a new way, Tom was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives for two terms, and then was elected to the Michigan Senate where he continued to advocate for the hard-working people of his district.
“Unlike his opponent who has voted with Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi 100 percent of the time and falsely professes to be a moderate, Tom has signed the Americans for Tax Reform’s Taxpayer Protection Pledge and has promised to vote against all tax hikes that hinder economic growth.
“Tom has shown he’s not afraid to take a stand when our liberties are in danger of being eroded by overreaching politicians with too much power. His solid voting record in fighting for the personal freedoms for all Michiganders and against Governor Whitmer’s mandates and lockdowns earned him the respect of his colleagues and constituents alike. The American Conservative Union even presented him the ‘Award for Conservative Excellence’ as both a State Representative and State Senator.
