Tom Emmer, Fighting for Conservative Principles

by Donlyn Turnbull

Meet Tom Emmer, the candidate fighting to “return everyday values to Washington D.C.” Tom is running for the 6th congressional district in Minnesota and Tea Party Express recently endorsed him in his bid for Congress. We’d like you to take a few minutes to get to know Tom and learn why we feel he is the best candidate for this position.

Grounded in Conservatism

Raised around his family’s lumber business, Tom learned early the value of hard work and perseverance. After receiving his degree in Political Science from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, Tom achieved a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law. He founded and ran his own law firm for years and eventually ran for office and began serving his state of Minnesota in their House of Representatives. Tom also made a close bid for Governor in 2010, and afterward entered into a career as a conservative pundit on a well received radio program.

He continues his fight for conservative principles and ideals by running for the U.S. House of Representatives. “When I look around at the direction our country is going in and the impact it is having on the daily lives of families in our 6th district, our state and our great nation, I have to tell you I’ve never felt more compelled in my life to serve,” Tom said.

Restoring America’s Greatness

Tom wants to take Congress to task over government overreach, irresponsible spending and lack of common sense. He questions why “Washington struggles with simple math.”
“It seems like every day we hear about another out of control Washington D.C. power grab,” Tom said. “Is it ok that we pass budgets that never balance, and ask for yes votes on legislation to find out what’s in it?” he questioned. Tom offers a resounding “no” to those questions and explains Americans need to ask if this is the legacy we want to leave to our children.

Tom supports the government stepping out of the way of the people. “We need to restore the traditional role of the federal government,” Tom said. “We need our elected representatives in Washington to leave businesses and people to do what they do best-create, innovate and prosper once again.”

Please help us create a prosperous country once again and elect Tom Emmer to office.
