Ossoff Bankrolled by Liberal Washington Elites Wrong Path for Democrats

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, questions the political relationship between Jon Ossoff, the “#Resistance,” and the entrenched Democratic leadership asking, “What’s the difference? This is no way to start a grassroots movement.”

Tea Party Express Executive Director Taylor Budowich said, “The liberals and their media boosters keep proclaiming that the anti-Trump hysteria is similar to the Tea Party.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  They don’t seem to understand that the success of the Tea Party was because it was a grassroots populist movement that took on leaders and candidates of both political parties.

“Jon Ossoff and his cozy relationship with party leaders is something much different. First, it’s no surprise that liberals can funnel millions of dollars to a handpicked candidate as they’ve been a top-down party for decades. It’s also no surprise that Democrats can protest, they have a ‘movement’ for every season. Yet, Jon Ossoff and the Resistance movement claims to be something new, different, and separate from the Democratic Party – an institution that has electorally fallen out of the mainstream. But where’s the evidence of that?

“In last night’s debate, one of Ossoff’s opponents even asked him for an example of a time when he stood up to his own party, but he couldn’t provide a single instance. Jon Ossoff claims to be his own person, and not just an empty suit. But is there really any daylight between Ossoff and the Democratic machine run by Nancy Pelosi? Given the millions of dollars Ossoff is raising from outside of the 6th district, voters are right to wonder, who is he really running to represent?

“The left-wing-dominated Democrat Party can’t bankroll Jon Ossoff on the one hand, and then on the other claim there is a new grassroots movement emerging. This primary looks more like the Democrat’s 2016 Presidential Primary than the inception of the Tea Party. Unfortunately for them, it is the same old rhetoric that has led to historic Democrat losses around the country. It’s time for the media to start asking the tough questions that Ossoff and his Democratic sponsors are avoiding,” Budowich concluded.
