Tea Party Express Endorses Four Congressional Incumbents in California’s Central Valley

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest grassroots Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of the four outstanding conservative Congressmen in California’s Central Valley: Jeff Denham in the 10th District, David Valadao in the 21st District, Devin Nunes in the 22nd District, and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy in the 23rd District.

Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “Over the years, the California Central Valley has produced some of the most effective members of Congress, both Republicans and Democrats. Because of the unique blend of diverse groups in the Valley, successful legislators had to know how to bring people together to tackle the tough issues facing their communities. We are enthusiastic in endorsing the four conservatives, Jeff Denham, David Valadao, Devin Nunes, and Kevin McCarthy, who have distinguished themselves as heirs to that legacy of public service. Their extensive experience in agriculture and business and record of getting things done in Washington have enabled them to produce solutions that benefit the Valley’s diverse population. They all are skilled in working across political lines to get results.

10th District. “Farmer and small business owner Jeff Denham served his country in the United States Air Force for sixteen years and received the Meritorious Service Medal. He served two terms in the State Senate before being elected to Congress in 2010. In Congress, Denham was instrumental in passing the Federal Asset and Sale (FAST) Act, which shrank the federal government’s footprint and saved taxpayers billions of dollars, and he continues to focus on job creation, empowering farmers and entrepreneurs, and reducing the nation’s debt.

21st District. “Born in Hanford to Portuguese immigrants, David Valadao grew up working in the family dairy farm and later became a partner in the business. He has spent his career advocating for farmers and ranchers in leadership roles with several industry associations, in the State Senate, and in Congress. Valadao is working to create good paying jobs in the Central Valley, cut job-killing regulations, and hold Washington accountable for how it spends our money.

22nd District. “Devin Nunes is a Central Valley native who grew up working in the family farm. His extensive agricultural experience led President George W. Bush to appoint him California State Director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development. Since his election to Congress in 2003, Nunes has fought to reform the federal tax code, implement free market healthcare solutions, and secure a stable water supply for the Valley’s residents and farmers.

23rd District. “Kevin McCarthy is a fourth generation Kern County resident and former small business owner. At the age of 21, he started his own business, Kevin O’s Deli, and soon learned how government hinders success through onerous regulations and high taxes. That experience compelled him to enter public service, first as a Congressional staff person, then in the State Assembly, and later in Congress where he has led the fight to ban earmarks, stood up against Barack Obama’s wasteful bailouts, and guided conservatives’ efforts to reduce the size and cost of the federal government. Throughout this past Congress, McCarthy has worked with President Trump to lead the House to cut taxes, eliminate wasteful spending, and repeal over a dozen of the worst Obama-era regulations. McCarthy is one of President Trump’s strongest and most effective allies, and his leadership will ensure the Trump agenda continues to be implemented. I have known Kevin since he first began his public service, and he always emerged as a leader committed to getting conservative ideas implemented into public policy. His astute political skills are material reasons why Republicans have achieved and maintained a Congressional majority.

“The recent announcement by the Commerce Department that the economy grew at a whopping rate of 4.1 percent in the second quarter is welcome news to the Central Valley. Entrepreneurs are investing again, people are going back to work, and taxpayers are keeping more of their hard-earned money, all thanks to the tax cuts and regulatory reform Denham, Valadao, Nunes, and McCarthy helped pass through Congress. The Valley needs these four Congressman in Washington, continuing to fight for even more good-paying jobs, a reliable water supply, limited government, and a thriving economy,” Russo concluded.
