Tea Party Express Praises President Trump’s Trade Deal with China

Sacramento, CA: Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, commends the Trump Administration’s historic Phase One trade agreement with China.

Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “This announcement by President Trump is welcome news for our economy. For too long, China’s unfair trade practices have put American companies at a competitive disadvantage, eliminating millions of jobs and costing consumers billions of dollars each year. This historic trade agreement begins to level the playing field and ensures that China’s economic growth does not come at the expense of American productivity and economic prosperity.”

Among its many provisions, the deal requires China to increase its purchases of American-made goods and services by $200 billion, including $40-50 billion in agricultural products. In addition, Beijing will stop devaluing its currency and forcing U.S. companies to hand over their technologies as a condition of doing business in China.

“These changes will benefit American farmers, manufacturers, and innovators by ensuring unimpeded access to China’s domestic market and protecting American technologies from theft and piracy. The resulting economic growth will create jobs for American workers and put more money in the pockets of American consumers. And this is only the first phase! We congratulate President Trump on his accomplishments thus far and encourage him to expeditiously negotiate further beneficial phases with our largest trading partner.

“This trade agreement is yet another example of President Trump’s successful economic agenda working for the American people. Thanks to the President’s tax reforms and elimination of numerous job-killing regulations, our economy is roaring once again. As a result, we are experiencing record-breaking job growth, low unemployment, increasing wages, and a stock market that continues to set records. Leveling the playing field with China will further stimulate these economic gains and bring additional prosperity to American workers and their families.

“While the President is making prosperity for all Americans a priority, it certainly compares favorably to the Democrats wasting the last two years on fruitless and distracting impeachment efforts.
