ELECTION ALERT: Tea Party Express Endorses Rep. Don Bacon in Nebraska

For Immediate Release: October 28, 2020

SACRAMENTO, CA: Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of Rep. Don Bacon for re-election to Nebraska’s Second Congressional District.

Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “Congressman Don Bacon is a commonsense conservative who is widely recognized for his bipartisanship and dedication to his constituents. The Democrats are pouring resources into this race to try and defeat him because he has been such an effective conservative representative. We need more leaders like him in Washington fighting to rein in excessive government and get our economy moving again.

Congressman Bacon has dedicated his entire life to serving his country. A decorated military veteran, he served for nearly 30 years in the United States Air Force, including four tours of duty in the Middle East and achieving the rank of Brigadier General. Because of his extensive experience, former Rep. Jeff Fortenberry hired him to serve as a military advisor focusing on Offutt Air Force Base and the Nebraska National Guard. Since his election to Congress in 2016, Don has worked across party lines to enact policies that bring more jobs and economic growth to Nebraska, improve local infrastructure, and increase funding to Offutt Air Force Base, a key part of the local economy. He has also sponsored or cosponsored legislation to clean up waste and overspending in Washington and strengthen our national security.

Congressman Bacon’s pragmatic leadership has earned him the support of Republicans and Democrats alike. Even his past opponent, former Democratic Congressman Brad Ashford, endorsed him for his ability to deliver results for Nebraska’s communities, working families, and small businesses. But his opponent, Kara Eastman, is endorsed by far-left Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, and most of her campaign’s money has come from out-of-state contributors from places like California and New York. She is simply too liberal for Nebraska. Voters in the Second District know Congressman Bacon is on their side, not Nancy Pelosi’s, and we are confident they will send him back to Congress to continue fighting for liberty, security, and prosperity,” Russo concluded.
