Tea Party Express Denounces DNC Chair’s Attack on Tea Party

Baseless accusations do nothing to promote civil discourse

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the largest Tea Party political action committee, denounces Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Shultz’s accusation this morning that the Tea Party movement is responsible for the tragic shooting last year in Tucson, Arizona.

Amy Kremer, Chairman of the Tea Party Express, said, “It is sickening to hear these baseless accusations. It is just pathetic that Rep. Shultz and the left continue to talk about the need for civil discourse, yet continue flinging these attacks that do nothing to promote civility.

“Unfortunately, I we are going to see a lot of these type of attacks from now until Novemeber because President Obama’s record is horrendous. Unemployment is at 8.6%, and that’s only because over 300,000 Americans gave up looking for work. He has dug us deeper and deeper into debt by embarking on spending programs that have failed while promoting economic policies that aim at punishing job creators. So instead of facing the facts, his campaign is sending out surrogates to distract voters by launching polarizing attacks against the Tea Party.

“The Tea Party Express is ready to help send a conservative to the White House in 2012 and we will do so by focusing on the issue Americans care most about, the economy. We are tired of the mudslinging and are ready for a leader who is prepared to fix this economy and make America prosperous again,” Kremer concluded.
