Tea Party Express Commends Chambliss on His Retirement

Chairman Kremer calls retirement “opportunity for Tea Party growth in the Senate”

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, commends U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia for his service and heralds his departure as another opportunity for Tea Party growth in the Senate.

Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer said, “The retirement of Senator Chambliss opens a door for continued Tea Party growth in the U.S. Senate. Many people in the tea party movement here in Georgia felt Chambliss was tired and unwilling to fight the difficult battles to control government spending in Washington without increasing our nation’s tax burden. However, it’s now our responsibility to field a strong candidate and one that will be a conservative leader in the Senate.

“After another great year for the tea party in 2012, it is important that we continue to recruit candidates that will join the likes of Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Rand Paul, as powerful voices in Washington. We are actively engaged in trying to identify the best electable, strong fiscal conservatives candidate for the job,” Kremer concluded.

The Tea Party movement had a noteworthy year again in 2012 after a net gain of 3 new Tea Party Senators and 16 new Tea Party House members.
