Tea Party Express Rejects Establishment Republicans’ Plan To Perpetuate Losing Formula

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, called the formation of the Conservative Victory Project a big mistake that will lead to neither conservatives, nor victories in 2014.

Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer said, “The newly launched Conservative Victory Project wants to push the Tea Party out and replace them with the failed strategies of 2008 and 2012. This Super PAC is choosing power of principle, but will end up alienating conservatives and electoral losses.

“If the establishment’s large donors want to see a complete electoral catastrophe, then all they need to do is push Tea Party conservatives into supporting alternative third candidates. In the general elections, responsible Tea Party leaders have supported the GOP’s establishment candidates consistently after primaries, even though moderates have been nearly nonexistent in being loyal to conservative primary victors.

“If they really want to find the pathway that leads to electoral success for Republicans, they need only look to the biggest Republican victories in modern American politics. The secret ingredient to a winning formula is conservative principles. Reagan’s victories in the 1980’s, New Gingrich and the Republican revolution of 1994, and the Tea Party’s historic wins in 2010 were all made possible because the Republican Party, and its candidates, stood strongly and proudly for pro-growth fiscal conservative policies,” Kremer concluded.

In the 2012 election the Tea Party movement had overwhelming electoral success, while the establishment Republican candidates from President to Congress ran into trouble. In the house the incoming freshman class includes 35 republicans, 27 of which are Tea Party conservatives. In the Senate, the Tea Party had a net gain of 3 Tea Party Senators.
