Tea Party Outraged by No Budget
Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, is dismayed by the President’s continued delay in producing a budget.
Tea Party Express Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “The first Monday in February comes at the same time every year, but the President has continued to ignore his responsibility to produce a budget or a plan to get America out of the economic doldrums.
“Between Obama’s failure to submit a budget and to send a viable budget to Congress, and the Senate’s refusal to make any serious effort to produce a budget for the last three years, it is no wonder the nation’s fiscal problems abound. It is absurd that Obama fails at this simple task, yet he has had no problem adding $6.1 trillion so far to the national debt.
“The President has promised to cut the deficit in half and “smart” spending cuts, but his only actions have been to increase spending, increase taxes, increase burdensome regulations and increase the debt. Now, with delaying yet another budget, he is forcing the American economy to continue down a path of reckless spending and an unsustainable national debt.
“There are many Tea Party leaders in Congress sounding the alarm on President Obama’s irresponsible and excessive spending. The House Republican leadership should apply more pressure on the Administration’s destructive spending habits by exposing the waste, fraud and abuse in federal spending. OMB and GAO have chronicled plenty of places for real cuts in excessive spending. Responsible cuts and pro-growth policies are the only things that will avert this approaching fiscal crisis,” Russo concluded.
