Tea Party Express Endorses Colonel Rob Maness for U.S. Senate

Shreveport, LA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, announced their endorsement of Colonel Rob Maness for U.S. Senate at a press conference today in Shreveport. Tea Party Express is hosting 5 press conferences—details below—throughout the state, along with local Tea Party leaders to make this announcement.

Tea Party Express Executive Director Taylor Budowich said, “Tea Party Express is excited to endorse Colonel Rob Maness for U.S. Senate. America is suffering and career politicians on both sides of the aisle have contributed to the out-of-control spending and crippling regulations. The beltway’s do-it-tomorrow mentality isn’t working and it’s time for an outsider like Rob Maness to go shake things up.

“After getting to know Rob and his background, it’s clear- he’s a fighter. Rob puts duty to country above all else. That’s a stark contrast to the professional politicians like Senator Mary Landrieu,” Budowich said. ”Landrieu shows no remorse for abandoning the needs of her constituents to peddle Obama’s liberal agenda- like voting yes for Obamacare. Another quality Rob brings is leadership. When he gets to Washington, D.C. he will pave his own trail and do what’s best for the people of Louisiana, not party bosses or special interests- just like Senators Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Mike Lee.

“It’s no wonder why Tea Party leaders around the state are lining up behind Rob: he represents the people. We are proud to stand with these local conservative activists in supporting Colonel Rob Maness’ candidacy for the U.S. Senate,” Budowich concluded.

Statement from Colonel Rob Maness:

“The Tea Party movement was started from the bottom up by concerned Americans across the political spectrum who recognize they are Taxed Enough Already,” Maness said.  “It’s a movement about removing power from the political class, both Republican and Democrat and their lobbyist and business executive friends, and vesting power where the founders envisioned it: with the people.

“In this race, I’m the only non-politician running, and my opponents are not just Mary Landrieu and Bill Cassidy, but the status quo in general.  I oppose anyone in the political establishment who thinks bureaucrats in Washington know better than fishermen in Lafourche Parish how to harvest red snapper, executives in the Department of Education in Washington know better than parents and teachers in West Monroe know how to educate our children, administrators in the VA know how to care for our veterans better than doctors and nurses in Acadiana, or that the EPA knows better how to produce energy and transport fuels safely than people in places like Houma and Cameron.

“Our campaign is about liberty – returning powers to the states and restoring rights for individuals – and trusting that we in Louisiana know best how to run our lives and spend our money.

“I want to thank Tea Party Express for promoting that philosophy; supporting great candidates like Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul; and endorsing my message and supporting my campaign.

“We need more people with ideas like Mike Lee and Ben Sasse, and I look forward to revealing more I support in New Orleans later this week that will restore a more accountable, competent, and Constitutional federal government.”

Comments from local Tea Party leaders:

“I’m supporting Rob Maness because he’s new to politics, supports small government, and believes in the constitution. Rob is the real deal.”

-Joe Liss, Greater New Orleans Tea Party

“Rob Maness is a non-politician and a proven leader because of his exceptional military career.

Each election, we vote for the “the incumbent,”  “the experienced,” “the one with a voting record,” or even “the lesser of two evils…” What needs to change is to vote for one who understands the principles on which this country was founded on and propelled this country to be the greatest, “freest” country in history. It is an understanding that is not taken lightly by Rob Maness for he has taken an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. The Tea Party rose up because of the continued usurpations of the Constitution and we need this Tea Party soldier to return America to greatness.”

-David Schexnayder, GNOTP charter activist

“Rob Maness has impressed me as a constitutional candidate for limited government.”

– Jim Crumling, Tea Party activist, Lafayette

“I support Rob as he has fought many years for our freedoms, and if elected, he will continue to fight for our freedoms.  He stands for the things that I support, such as less government spending, more jobs, and repealing Obamacare.  He also believes strongly in the Constitution and will fight for our rights.”

-Nell Bradley NE LA Tea Party activists

“Rob Maness is a man that pulls himself up by his own bootstraps!  He went into the military as a young enlisted man and retired a Colonel.  He understands the meaning of work ethic!”

-Diane Long, We The People member / Louisiana Power Coalition President

“I believe that Rob Maness would be an excellent senator because he believes in the Constitution and he would not be afraid to stand up to the politicians who are trying to turn America into a European style socialist state.”

Skip Caissie, NE LA Tea Party activist

“Rob Maness has conservative values, is a strong supporter of the Constitution, and has unquestionable leadership experience. There is no choice but Maness”

George Brazzel, We The People member
