Tea Party Express Endorses Three Dynamic Women for Congress in California
Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsement of three conservative candidates in southern California: Mimi Walters in the 45th District, Diane Harkey in the 49th District, and Young Kim in the 39th District.
Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “We are proud to endorse these three successful Republican businesswomen. They have parlayed their accomplishments in the private sector into positions of public service in which they have fought for the Tea Party principles of lower taxes, limited government, and economic growth.
“By returning Mimi Walters to her seat in Congress, and adding Diane Harkey, and Young Kim to the California delegation, Americans can be confident that we will continue getting our economy back on track and our fiscal house in order. These strong women are well-prepared for the fight ahead to provide the ladder of opportunity to everyone.
“Mimi Walters has spent years fighting for Tea Party principles, first in the California State Assembly and Senate and most recently alongside her conservative colleagues in Congress. She voted for the historic, growth-inducing Trump tax cuts and has made limited government, job creation, and private property rights her top priorities in Congress.
“After a long and successful career in banking and finance, Diane Harkey understands how regulatory and tax burdens are strangling the economy and killing jobs. As a Member of the State Assembly and Chair of the State Board of Equalization, she fought to protect the rights of taxpayers, streamline California’s onerous regulations, and help individuals and businesses navigate the state’s complex tax code.
“A Korean immigrant and former small business owner, Young Kim understands how fragile the American Dream is and the importance of fighting to safeguard it. That unique perspective led her to become active in her community and later elected to the State Assembly where she fought to protect Proposition 13 and advocated for public safety and local control of education decisions. We are proud to join retiring conservative Congressman Ed Royce in endorsing Kim.
“While the Democrats and their friends in the mainstream media insist that 2018 will be the ‘Year of the Woman,’ what they really are trying to boost is prospects for a Democratic takeover of the House. But while the liberals choose to focus on all the Democratic women running for office, countless Republican women are winning races all over the country. We are convinced that these three ladies will emerge victorious and ensure a continued Republican majority. This may be the ‘Year of the Woman,’ but principled conservative leaders like Mimi Walters, Diane Harkey, and Young Kim will make 2018 the ‘Year of the Conservative Woman,” Russo concluded.
