Tea Party Express Calls on Senator John Walsh to Resign
Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is demanding that Senator John Walsh resign from the U.S. Senate and withdraw his name from the U.S. Senate race due to a history of morally and ethically dubious actions.
Jonathan Martin of the New York Times has reported that, “Senator John E. Walsh of Montana took most of a 2007 final paper required for his master’s degree from U.S. Army College from other sources without proper attribution.Mr. Walsh copies an entire page nearly word-for-word from a Harvard paper, and each of his six conclusions is copied from a document from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace without attribution.”
Tea Party Express Executive Director Taylor Budowich said, “This scandal joins a documented history of morally and ethically dubious actions by John Walsh. They’ve included the sleazy Big Sky Buyout that conveniently sent Senator Max Baucus to China, allowing Governor Bullock the opportunity to appoint Walsh as Senator; under Walsh’s direction, the Montana Department of Military Affairs received poor marks during an audit for failing to properly manage federal money; and an U.S. Army investigation found Walsh to be guilty of using his position as Montana Adjunct General for personal gain.
“Senator John Walsh deceived the voters of Montana, his peers in the United States Military, and the United States Army War College. By so blatantly plagiarizing a 14-page final paper to earn a graduate degree, coupled with past scandals, Walsh has proven to lack the integrity and character necessary to represent the people of Montana.
“Senator Walsh’s actions are a disgrace to the office for which he did not even earn. Montanans deserve better, so we are calling on Senator John Walsh to resign immediately and withdraw his name from the U.S. Senate race,” Budowich concluded.
