Tea Party Express Endorses Keith Rothfus in PA Congressional District 12
Pittsburgh, PA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, proudly endorses Keith Rothfus’ candidacy for U.S. Congress in Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District today. The organization made the endorsement this evening at a rally in Plum Township.
Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer said, “Keith Rothfus is exactly the kind of fiscal conservative we need in Washington D.C. The historic Tea Party victories in 2010 were only as start, and we are proud to announce this endorsement for the U.S. House of Representatives. This is the first endorsement this year for a House candidate in the General Election, and we are committed to helping Keith get elected to Congress.
“The Tea Party Express endorsed Rothfus in 2010 in his razor thin loss to Congressman Jason Altmire. His opponent this year is Congressman Mark Critz, who is even more liberal than Altmire and completely in bed with organized labor. The elections in Wisconsin proved the people want fiscal responsibility out of their elected representative, not more crony politics.
“Critz, is out of touch with his constituents and his policies are representative of why our economy is suffering. He has come out in support of the Obama Administration’s tax-and-spend policies, which include embracing Obamacare. We cannot afford more big government policies that punish job creators and entrepreneurs, while putting trillions of dollars of debt onto the backs of our children.
“Keith gets it. He understands that a strong economy is not created by government spending, but by private sector growth. He is committed to reforming the tax code and giving entrepreneurs the tools necessary to create jobs and help our nation grow out of the current stagnate economy.
“We need someone willing to stand up and fight for the voice of the people – someone willing to repeal Obamacare, stop the spending, and reduce the size and intrusiveness of the federal government. We are excited to have such a strong candidate to challenge Critz and look forward to helping Keith win in November,” Kremer concluded.
This is the organization’s second endorsement for the House of Representatives this cycle and the first for the General Election. Tea Party Express has already endorsed Tom Cotton in Arkansas’ Congressional District 4 Primary Election and five U.S. Senate candidates, which include: State Treasurer Richard Mourdock in Indiana, former Solicitor General Ted Cruz in Texas, State Treasurer Josh Mandel in Ohio, former State Treasurer Sarah Steelman in Missouri, and businessman Tom Smith in Pennsylvania.
