Tea Party-Backed CEO Curt Clawson Wins in Landside
Tea Party Sets the Tone for 2014 in CD-19
Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is celebrating the movement’s first victory of 2014 in Florida’s 19th Congressional District tonight with Tea Party-supported Curt Clawson.
Tea Party Express Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “Tonight, Southwest Florida voted to send a bold Tea Party conservative to D.C. Curt Clawson’s unique background as a former CEO of a multi-billion dollar international company will be a powerful addition to Congress.
“The results tonight were clear, Curt Clawson’s Tea Party message of economic growth and fiscal responsibility resonated with the voters of Southwest Florida. It was exactly that kind of platform that fueled Republican victories in 2010 and 2012, and we’re starting 2014 with another decisive victory here tonight.
“Curt’s success sends a clear message to candidates across the country: you win elections by campaigning in bold colors, not pale pastels, as President Reagan once famously said. It’s only by taking a stand and running a campaign based on an unapologetically conservative vision that the Republican party, and consequentially the country, can return to the years of success and prosperity that we enjoyed during the Reagan years,” Russo concluded.
Tea Party Express ends its bus tour through Southwest Florida tonight, but continues on to Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota. These states serve as Tea Party battlegrounds for 2014, and the repercussions of tonight’s events will be felt throughout.
Following Tea Party Express’ endorsement in March, Clawson earned endorsements from Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund, Tea Party Nation, Senator Rand Paul, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Eagle Forum, and a number of local Tea Party Activists.
