TEA PARTY NEBRASKA POLL: Ben Sasse Edges Shane Osborn in Statistical Dead-Heat
Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, announces the results of the recent Tea Party U.S. Senate Republican Primary poll for Nebraska. The nationally recognized polling company, NSON Opinion Strategy in Salt Lake City, Utah, conducted the poll.
This poll finds a statistical dead-heat between Ben Sasse with 29.2% and Shane Osborn 26.8%. But Sasse commands a 12-point advantage among self-identified Tea Party-supporters, 36.9% to 24.8%. Sasse also garners 70.9% favorability among Tea Partiers to Osborn’s 65.2%.
The statewide, live caller telephone survey conducted April 16-20th by NSON was of 400 likely Republican primary voters.
Tea Party Express Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “With just over two weeks until the Republican U.S. Senate primary, there is a dead-heat between Ben Sasse and Shane Osborn. However, what we’ve learned from this poll is that Sasse maintains a lead among the most energetic voting block: the self-identified Tea Party supporters.
“This primary will be decided by the Tea Party support as 23% of Tea Party supporters are still undecided, which means they will likely tip the scales to the winning candidate. Wednesday’s Tea Party rally provided a great opportunity for these candidates to make one last pitch,” Russo concluded.
